Protecting human rights in global supply chains
Human rights are still frequently violated in global supply chains – even though laws at German and European level already oblige companies to manage human rights and environmental risks in their supply chains. The “Initiative for Global Solidarity” programme of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation) supports the textile, electronics and raw materials sectors in eight countries: it advises purchasing and manufacturing companies, trade representatives and workers’ rights associations to ensure that human and environmental rights are protected more effectively along the supply chain.
Concise storytelling
In order to show the effects of the multi-year project to an interested public and to pass on the experiences internally at GIZ, flmh has developed and produced a highlights brochure. The aim was to use concise storytelling to vividly illustrate what was specifically implemented and achieved in the individual projects. In consultation with the GIZ, almost 20 projects were initially preselected and an exposé prepared for each story. Subsequently, flmh held discussions with project participants on the basis of the information material provided. Twelve examples were finally developed into success stories.
Content and form from a single source
flmh designed the digital highlights brochure in the initiative’s corporate design, researched photos for each story and created infographics based on the impact data provided. Some of the stories were edited into a shorter format for the initiative’s LinkedIn account.
