Municipal and urban planning worldwide

Cities play an important role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. But how can sustainable urban development be implemented – anywhere in the world? URBANET is a digital platform of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation) where international experts and actors from practice, science, politics and civil society can exchange ideas on topics such as good local governance, decentralisation and climate-sensitive urban renewal.

Formation of international networks

In the run-up to the UN Habitat III conference, flmh developed the originally internal GIZ blog into an established forum for an international audience of experts. The content was specifically geared towards the relevant topics and trends of the conference; at the same time, renowned urban development experts from all over the world were recruited as authors and multipliers. Since then, the platform has not only served as a platform for discussion and information, but also as a networking platform for globally active academics and authors on urban planning.

URBANET with a new concept

flmh developed the concept for the public blog URBANET, created the design, implemented the website and produced advertising materials such as flyers and business cards. To this day, flmh is responsible for researching topics for the bi-monthly issues as well as editing the website, author support and social media.
