Anti-Muslim racism is a major problem – in Germany too. Around 5.5 million Muslims live here and experience hostility and even violence. After a record low in 2022, the number of anti-Muslim crimes rose to 1,848 in 2024; most of these are attributed to the far-right spectrum. The Centre for European and Oriental Culture e.V. (ZEOK) has been promoting linguistic, cultural and social diversity in Germany since 2004. It promotes solidarity and peaceful coexistence and offers training courses, workshops and other cultural formats to this end.
Digital platform for specialist staff
ZEOK commissioned flmh to design and develop a Moodle platform that deals with the topics of identity and racism. A special focus was to be placed on anti-Muslim racism. The platform is intended in particular for educational professionals who work with children and young people.
Bundled knowledge on racism and identity
flmh created the Moodle platform with four self-learning modules on identity, racism and anti-Muslim racism in particular. This enables educational professionals – especially teachers – to deepen their knowledge and receive targeted further training. In addition to the platform, flmh also developed the UX and web design. flmh also produced an animated video and accompanying information material, which can be downloaded from the website.
